Hey Broomballers. There is talk of getting together with a few of the Iowa clubs later in the season to play a few games. If you want to come with us and play just shoot me an email.

This will most likely take place in Des Moines, and there will be some cost for ice time.

The Iron Man tournament is back again this year on Saturday August 25th. It's a pretty unique tournament because you sign up as an individual instead of as a team. Players are drafted by the goaltenders to form 8 teams. They keep it a fairly even mix of skill levels on all teams, so it stays fair and you get a chance to learn from the best broomball players that the USA has to offer. It's going to be held at the Rosemount Arena in Rosemount, MN.

If you think you can make it, I highly encourage you do so. You will probably learn more from this one day than weeks of practice on your own.

Dear Broomballers, the last couple of weeks at broomball have seen stronger attendance and great games. Come on out this Wednesday night from 8-9:30 p.m. at Ice Midwest, 135th and Quivira. The more players the better, as we still have plenty of great ice to take advantage of. It's $10 at the front desk and check the assignment board for our locker room number.

We are asking each player to bring a light and a dark jersey/shirt, as it helps us divide up for teams. As always, we try to mix experienced and new players to keep the teams balanced, so if you bring a friend, you can play on their team.

Hey there Broomballers. We will be having our pickup game this Wednesday night (and every Wednesday for the foreseeable future). If we have enough people we will play full ice which adds a whole new dimension to the game and is a lot of fun.

$10/person

Nick and myself will be back this week, and hopefully Tom will be with us as well. This should be a great turnout. Hope to see you all there!

This week we will be starting pickup games at Pepsi Ice Midwest. Specifically, we will be playing from 8pm - 9:30pm on Wednesday, May 23rd. The price is still going to be $10 per session. However, this time we'll be playing full ice! So bring yourself and your friends, I'd love to see a great turnout.

We will most likely still be playing at the AMF Ice Chateau each Sunday at 3:30pm until the rink closes. If you haven't heard, the AMF rink will be closing in June indefinitely.

Sorry for not updating this in so long ... here's the scoop for this next weekend.

We will be having a pickup game at the usual time and place. Both Bill and I are going to miss this weekend, and I'll probably miss the following one as well. That said, I encourage all of you to show up and bring your friends.

AMF Ice Chateau

A few months ago we sat down and had a discussion about scheduling Broomball pickup games at the Pepsi Ice Midwest rinks. Well, just yesterday Bill got an email from them saying that they would be forwarding their summer schedule to us so that we can find a spot to put it in. Nothing is final yet, but we're going to try and get a time that more people can show up for. I'll keep you posted.

Nick and I played in the Nationals tournament last month. It was a great trip overall, however I did get a blow to the knee that has kept me from playing for the last month and probably will for the next few weeks as well.

We also sent a couple players to the Des Moines tournament just a few weeks ago, which I hear went great as well.

I forgot my camera and therefore didn't get pictures of either of the tournaments, but if I find some I'll link them up here.

Well, the site has been down for about 2 weeks now. Oops. I took it down to do some major reconfiguration and things got worse before they got better. It's not perfect now, but it's close.

The pickup game this weekend will be at the normal time of 3:30pm on Sunday afternoon. Nick and I won't be there this week, which leads me to the next piece of news.

Nick and I are traveling to Blaine, MN tomorrow morning to play in the National Tournament. I'll be playing with the co-ed team: Iowa United and the men's C/D team: Ballhawgs. Iowa United's first game is tomorrow night at 6:30. I'll try and keep this site updated with game scores and the like.
